I thought things couldn't get worse. I was wrong. I found out what I really wanted and was forced to give him up. The Horde King thinks he has me exactly where he wants me. He thinks he has taken all of my options away. I still have choices. Embracing what destiny has planned for me, or escaping it.

More like 3.5 stars for this book.(***Spoilers***)So far, I would have thought that this far into the series Syn would have finally grown up a bit. I was wrong. She is still the same whiny, bad@ss pretender that she usually is. But now she is pregnant and even more whiny. I don't know how that is even possible.Syn still complains about Ryder, aka the Horde King, but with one touch she's like butter melting on hot toast. Gets taken advantage of repeatedly but in the heat of the moment (and there's a lot of heat) she's perfectly accepting of it and even begs for it. Then after their steamy moments (typical. The same old lines over and over that I was skimming pages) Ryder always seems to lay down the law about something, to which Syn disagrees with and throws a hissy fit. Always crying. Always yelling. Lots of exclamation marks. At some point in the novel she states that she isn't the type to have a hissy fit. I literally stopped, and was like, what?! Are you kidding me? Syn. You are the epitome of hissy fits. Here's some reality for you to digest, dear girl: Ryder isn't going to change. Your relationship type is unhealthy and it's getting boring to read. Stop being so surprised by a guy with MANY secrets. There will always be many more. Make a decision. Stick with it.So Ryder apparently signed a contract pre-Syn stating he'll marry Clare's sister. And what does Syn do? Let's him boss her around again while hissy fitting her way through it. But this time the idiot says, I'll make him love me. That's my plan. This guy with real mental problems, I'll make him love me. Yeah, that ought show everyone.The series started out good. They books were addicting, hot and a pretty decent length. The consistent recipe of, I hate him! How dare he! Oh, sex? Okay sure. I love him now. But gee, he's done it again and is treating me like he's a caveman! I hate him again! Is getting pretty damn boring pretty damn fast.With that said, I don't think I'll be purchasing the 4th in the series. There's barely been any character progression and it shows.
