I’ve read quite a few books related to dog obedience and behavior training, and this book in my opinion comes as close to a complete and comprehensive as well as concise guide as can be found. While command training gets most of the attention in so many books, this one emphasizes the importance that it is incidental or happenstance training related to living with your dog. The author conveys the need for both reinforcement as well correction in a manner that is fair and balanced. There is not much missing that I find in this book. It hits all the basics and then some. I have given this book as gifts to rescuers, owners, adopters and fosters. I highly recommend this book to anyone that wants a relationship with a dog to be based on respect.
